About University
Ulyanovsk State Technical University (UlSTU) was founded in 1957. It is one of the largest scientific, educational and cultural centres in the Volga region. UlSTU trains highly-skilled specialists in a wide range of technical and mathematical sciences, humanities and economics as well.
Today around 10 000 students study at UlSTU. There are more than 700 foreign students from 35 countries, including Vietnam, China, Iraq, Yemen, Japan, Palestine, Egypt, Guinea-Bissau, Cote d’Ivoire, Bangladesh, etc.
UlSTU is proud of its history, alumni, and high educational standards that include practical training, research, and innovations. UlSTU is a leading university in intellectual property certificates obtained in Russia (more than 5400 patents on inventions, utility models and other objects).

Russian Language Course (Pre-University Course)
- Technical Specialization in the Russian Language
Disciplines: Russian as a foreign language (Level B1), including scientific language, mathematics, physics, chemistry, informatics, Russian history, and phonetics.

Duration: from 8 months up to 10 months
Ulyanovsk State Technical University offers courses in Russian as a foreign language from 1 month up to 12 months for all levels. The course fee is provided upon request. Students have an opportunity to pass the Test of Russian as a Foreign Language (TORFL) at UlSTU

Student life
Education at UlSTU is not only lectures, seminars and exams. Students take part in many areas of social, sports, and creative activities, where they can realize themselves.
There are favourable conditions provided for physical culture and sports at the University. Sections in various sports – basketball, volleyball, table tennis, athletics, mini-football and many others are available. Together with the tourists, you can go hiking or rafting. A complex of outdoor and indoor sports facilities on campus and a new swimming pool.
For those involved in cultural activities, there is a concert hall for dancing, rehearsing and acting. For those who are interested in social life, there are several student and professional organizations to become a volunteer, student leaders, a young manager, etc.
The campus is made for comfortable student life. You can study, relax, stay healthy and live on campus.
Dormitories for students with a capacity of 1250 people are located on campus territory. The dormitories have full-fledged kitchens with electric stoves for preparing hot meals, household rooms for washing, drying and ironing clothes, and showers, and rooms for leisure and recreation.
