About the University
Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (National Research University) - MGSU is the leading university of the Russian Federation in the field of construction, which was established in 1921. MGSU is one of the first universities that was granted the status of a National Research University of Russia in 2010. This enables MGSU to engage in both teaching and research through the integration of science and education. MGSU’s scientific and innovative areas cover theoretical and experimental studies of global, regional and local importance with priority areas like Construction, Urban planning, Architecture, Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency, Environment protection and others.
University campus meets all the requirements for a promising scientific and educational complex in viewpoint of modern educational and research laboratories, technical and information infrastructure, logistics, safety, comfort, and accessibility.
MGSU is a leading institution within the International Public Organization of Assistance to Construction Education (ASV). ASV comprises 152 universities, faculties and chairs from Russia, Central Asia, Caucasus and Eastern Europe. The University has 80 international collaboration partners from 35 countries. Annually, more than 150 students and staff participate in international exchange programs, and over 200 teaching staff get engaged in further education programs and internships abroad.

Student Life:
Forming and nurturing tolerance among schoolchildren and youth is the most important strategic direction of modern education.The university has forged an International Club to promote harmony and peace among the students and learn to appreciate customs and traditions of other cultures at the same time providing a forum to the students to freely express their thoughts, views and share queries with each other. The International Club has been active in “the MGSU Planet” and, by the way, is very popular among the students, freshmen or MISI-MSSU graduates.
This friendly planet of fun is inhabited with the future builders, high school students of the Moscow schools and students of many other universities of Russia as well. They are here for international meetings, evenings of friendship, days of acquaintance with other countries, presentations, celebrations of national holidays and other important events of social and cultural life.
