Guangzhou Medical University is located in Guangzhou which is the third largest port city in China. Initially, after its establishment in 1958, the university was known as Guangzhou Medical College. Guangzhou Medical University now comprises of four campuses. The main Campus is located in Dongfeng Road West and the other three campuses are in Longdong, Haizhu and Jianggao.
GMU faces 31 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Chinese central government, Hong Kong and Macao regions to recruit 1,500 undergraduates and 550 postgraduates (master and doctors) in each year. There are 23300 full-time students, including 10000 undergraduates, 1300 graduates, and 12000 continuing educational students.
The university is reputed and well known for providing qualitative medical education to local as well as international students.
The students at GMU are fortunate to have an option to study and choose from a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate streams available. The university owns 21 research centers thus making it easier for the students to attain the best clinical exposure. The university equally focuses on the practical knowledge as it focuses on theoretical knowledge.
