ABOUT UNIVERSITY
Southern Medical College was founded in 2005. It is located at East Nasirabad, Khulshi, Chittagong. It is associated with Chittagong Medical University and is fully accredited medical educational institution formed under the permission of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MOHFW), Government of Bangladesh. It is authorized to intake of 65 freshman students, yearly.
The college is modern and well-furnished with sufficient rooms for the lectures, tutorials and practicals. There are also practical room, laboratory, museum and library. The college aims to offer quality education to their students so that they become skilled, devoted and attentive medical graduates achieving their goal of becoming a successful doctor.
The college has 194 faculty members, which includes 41 Professors, 31 Associate Professors, 44 Assistant Professors, 57 Lecturers, 2 Resident Physicians and 4 Resident Surgeons, who have a professional experience in their field.

STUDENT LIFE
The student lead a very happy and smooth life. The hostels are modern and well-furnished provided with every important daily needed facility. There are separate and secured hostels for both girls and boys. College encourages the students to actively participate in extracurricular activities. It organizes health camps for them to get greater on-ground exposure. The library is fully equipped with adequate books, journals, research papers and computer with internet facilities.
