Mari State University Student Wins Grand Prix at National StudRussia Competition

Mari State University has once again made its mark on the national stage as one of its international students achieved a remarkable victory at the prestigious StudRussia competition. Moreover, this achievement shows excellence and the growing global presence of international students in Russian higher education.

A National Platform Celebrating Global Talent

The final stage of the All-Russia competition for international students, StudRussia, brought together 112 outstanding international students from 76 universities across the country. More than just a competition, StudRussia stands as a symbol of unity, innovation, and the growing contribution of international students to Russian higher education.

StudRussia 2025 Hosted in Moscow

This year’s grand finale was held at MISIS University in Moscow on 10 and 11 December 2025. The event became a meeting point for some of the most talented and driven international students studying in Russia. All presented projects and talents to demonstrate academic excellence and social impact.

Mari State University Shines on the National Stage

Mari State University was proudly represented by Manish Landage, a 6th-year student of the Medical Institute and Chairman of the Foreign Students Council. Competing among the very best, Manish demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment, making his university and fellow students immensely proud.

Grand Prix Recognition for Excellence

Manish Landage was awarded the Diploma of Laureate in the category “Grand Prix – Best International Student (English Track)”, one of the highest honors of the competition. His achievement highlighted the strong academic environment and student initiatives fostered at Mari State University.

Recognition from the Ministry of Education

The significance of the event was further underlined by the presence of Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia, who personally congratulated the finalists and celebrated their achievements. Her visit reflected the national importance of StudRussia and its role in encouraging international academic talent.

Manish shared that every word and step during the competition was aimed at demonstrating the strength and uniqueness of Mari State University. He expressed pride in being part of an institution where innovative student projects are not just ideas but realities already implemented on campus. For him, this recognition reaffirmed that he is studying at one of the best universities.

He further said, “All the unique projects proposed by the participants have long been implemented at our one and only MarSU. This makes me even prouder of the place where I am gaining knowledge, and I feel I represented us all with dignity.”

Manish remains focused on what lies ahead despite the major win. With final exams approaching, he believes this achievement is only the beginning of greater milestones to come. Furthermore, he extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported him.
