The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially declared the NEET UG 2026 Result on 16 July 2026. Candidates who appeared for the examination can now check and download their scorecards from the official website. The result has been announced on schedule, allowing the medical admission and counselling process to begin without delay.
This year, nearly 20 lakh candidates appeared for NEET UG 2026 at 5,440 examination centres across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. Out of them, 11.21 lakh candidates have qualified for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, B.Sc. Nursing, BVSc & AH, and other undergraduate medical programmes. More than 58% of the qualified candidates are women, making them the majority among successful candidates.
Adding to the admission process, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has also released the MBBS seat matrix for the 2026-27 academic session, providing candidates with a clear picture of the number of seats available across government and private medical colleges. Aspirants are advised to review the seat matrix carefully before participating in the counselling process, as it will help them make informed choices while filling their preferred colleges.
How to Download NEET UG 2026 Scorecard
Candidates can download their scorecard by following these simple steps:
- Visit the official NEET website.
- Click on the “NEET UG 2026 Result” link.
- Enter your Application Number and Password or Date of Birth.
- Submit the details.
- Your scorecard will appear on the screen.
- Download and take a printout for future admission and counselling purposes.
Candidates are advised to verify all details mentioned on the scorecard, including their personal information, marks, percentile, All India Rank (AIR), category rank, and qualifying status.

NEET UG 2026 Cut-Off
Along with the result, NTA has released the category-wise qualifying cut-off percentile and marks. Meeting the qualifying cut-off makes candidates eligible to participate in the counselling process; however, it does not guarantee admission to a medical college. Final admission depends on factors such as All India Rank, category, seat availability, reservation policy, and counselling choices.

What Happens After the Result?
After downloading the scorecard, qualified candidates should start preparing for the counselling process.
The admission process will take place in two stages:
- 15% All India Quota (AIQ) counselling will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
- The respective state counselling authorities will conduct 85% State Quota counselling.
