The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an advisory for all NEET 2026 candidates to update their Aadhaar biometric details. In a social media post on X, the NTA has stated that this step is designed for the smooth and seamless biometric verification at all the exam centres.
It further stated, “This is essential for smooth biometric verification at the examination centre”. “Candidates may visit their nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra, if required, to complete updates well in advance”.
As per the UIDAI guidelines, a child needs to update their Aadhaar biometric details when they turn 15. This can be done free of cost, between the ages of 15 and 17. The candidates can find their nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra from the official website – uidai.gov.in.
The Aadhaar information must be accurate, including name, gender, date of birth, photograph, address and biometric details, to avoid any discrepancies or issues during the authentication process.
Besides Aadhaar, NEET UG 2026 candidates are also directed to ensure that their other key documents, like UDID cards for persons with disabilities and category certificates (EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL), are valid and updated.
The NEET UG 2026 Admit Card has also been released by NTA on April 27, and candidates are advised to download it from the official website – neet.nta.nic.in.
