The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially released the information bulletin and the registration form for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination FMGE October 2026, announcing important dates and eligibility requirements for foreign medical graduates aiming to practise medicine in India.
Important Dates To Remember
The FMGE October 2026 exam will be conducted on October 31, 2026. NBEMS has also stated that the exam will now be conducted thrice a year, including the FMGE June 2026 exam that was held on June 28.
The FMGE October 2026 application window will remain open from September 11 (5:00 PM) to September 25 (11:55 PM). Candidates who complete payment can make permitted corrections during the edit window from September 29 to September 30.
Eligibility Criteria For Candidates
An important eligibility requirement is that candidates must have completed their MBBS with the final examination result declared on or before August 31, 2026. The candidate must provide the documents confirming that they have completed the courses as per the requirements of the institution.
Reduction in Exam Fee
The FMGE exam fee has been reduced to ₹3,940.68/- with 18% GST, which makes the total amount payable ₹4,650/-.
About The FMGE October 2026 Examination
The FMGE is a computer-based examination comprising 300 multiple-choice questions, conducted in two parts. Candidates need to secure at least 150 marks out of 300 to qualify, with no negative marking.
The FMGE admit card is scheduled to be released on October 27, while the October 2026 FMGE result is likely to be declared by November 30, 2026. The candidates can view their result on the official NBEMS website.
