About University

Tbilisi Medical Teaching University Hippocrates was established in 2003, as an authorized and accredited Higher Education Institution. It is officially recognized by WHO, MCI. World Higher Education Database (WHED), Bologna Process Member Countries (European Union, United Kingdom, Ukraine, Turkey etc.) and the Higher Education Council of Turkey. Moreover, it has a membership with AMEE and The Association of Medical Schools in Europe.

The University is equipped with modern technologies, laboratories with new equipment and instruments, clinics etc. It focuses on intensive clinical teaching and good interaction with the students to always help them. Practical pedagogy is the teaching and an important research pillar of the university. It aims to provide active individual assistance, so that the students get trained to be able to make a quick decision while practicing medicine professionally, and can save the patient.

Student life

The University doesn’t have any accommodation facility, so it helps the students to find an appropriate accommodation which is secure and budget friendly. For transportation facility, the university students get 40% discount for all public transport.

The university offers many extra-curricular activities for student’s self-development. It has many clubs and organizations like – sports club, cultural club, art center etc. Moreover, foreign students have the opportunity to be elected in the student governing councils, which is a representative body of the students at the university.

Foreign students also learn Georgian language considering the fact that in everyday life and studies in Georgia; they might require certain level of proficiency in Georgian language. So, the university offers affordable price for courses in the Georgian language, Georgian history and culture.
