Indian Students of MarSU’s Achievements at the Games of the People of the World

Mari State University has once again demonstrated that studying MBBS in Russia goes beyond academics, offering a holistic development experience that prepares students for a brighter future. In the recent event, Games of the People of the World, hosted by the Mari-El Republic, held in the capital city – Yoshkar Ola, from July 24 to July 28, 2024, Indian students emerged are active participants throughout the event, showcasing their skills and talents in demonstrating and outshining in their respective disciplines. 

The event saw the participation of more than 1500 athletes representing 51 regions from Russia and three other countries, competing in 15 diverse sports, showcasing traditional martial arts and physical activities such as aikido (phygital aikido), all-style karate, kendo (jodo), kuresh, muay thai, sambo, mas-wrestling, lapta (Russian), uchkur, kabaddi, cricket, sonar, chess boxing, taekwondo, and belt wrestling.

Indian students of Mari State University participated and excelled in various sports activities. Their talent and powerful teamwork lead the teams to victory in their respective disciplines with Powerhitters team taking the first place, Superstrikers team in the second place and Trendsetters team in the third place at the Cricket tournament.

Their efforts played a pivotal role in the success of the event. Witnessing the enthusiasm of Indian students, Kabaddi was introduced to the Games. The Indian students at Mari State University helped in preparing and organizing the Kabaddi competition, ensuring a smooth and well-coordinated experience for all participants. Teamwork, indulgence and perseverance brought victory as the DANGER BOYS team secured the first place, the ALLROUNDER DOCTORS team secured the second place and TEAM WOLF team in third place, making their respective teams proud.

Adding to the vibrancy of the Games, the opening and closing ceremonies were enriched by the enthusiastic involvement of Indian MBBS students. They participated in various demonstration performances, displaying their talents to a large audience at the stadium and emphasizing the diverse skills and cultural heritage they contribute to Russia.

Their active performances not only promote Indian sports but also foster educational and cultural exchange between India and Russia.
