The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an advisory for NEET UG 2026 re-exam candidates for biometric verification and dress code for the examination day. The NEET UG 2026 re-exam is scheduled for 21 June (Sunday) and will be conducted across various centres in India and abroad.
Every candidate is required to undergo the mandatory biometric verification (fingerprint/facial recognition) after completing the frisking procedure on the day of the examination. This must be done before entering the examination hall. This is a security requirement and must be completed before the examination begins.
If the candidate is not able to complete his/hers biometric verification due to any of the following reasons:
- Device hardware failure
- Connectivity failure with UIDAI servers
- Poor quality of biometric data
- Physical inability of the candidate to perform biometric verification
They will still be permitted to enter and appear in the examination hall. However, such candidates must provide a written undertaking at the time of entry at the examination venue. The format for this undertaking will be available with the centre superintendent.
Candidates CANNOT be disturbed during the examination period for the biometric verification. The biometric process must be carried out before the commencement of the re-examination or after it ends.
The eligible PwD/PwBD candidates, who are allowed compensatory time, can extend their examination duration till 06:20 PM.
