The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a re-examination for NEET UG 2026 after cancelling the medical entrance test held on May 3. The decision came after allegations of paper leaks and examination irregularities triggered nationwide concern among students and parents.
NTA Announces Fresh NEET UG Exam Date
As per the NTA’s post on X, the NEET UG 2026 re-exam is scheduled to be conducted on June 21, 2026. The decision was approved by the Government of India.
The NTA has not asked students to register again for the fresh examination. Furthermore, candidates will not have to pay any additional examination fee for the re-test.

Following the allegations, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) launched a probe into the matter. Recent reports say multiple arrests have already been made as investigators continue searches across different states.

For lakhs of NEET aspirants, the cancellation has brought emotional stress and uncertainty. Many students had already started preparing for counselling and admission planning after completing one of the most competitive exams in the country.
