The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the Provisional Answer Keys for NEET UG 2026 re-exam held on June 21 across India and abroad. The main objective of releasing the answer key is to maintain transparency and to ensure the earliest declaration of results.
Moreover, this time, NTA has also opened the Challenge Window at the same time while the OMR sheet scanning is still in progress. Both the answer key and challenge window are opened at the same time to ensure candidates get an early opportunity to review the provisional answer keys and can challenge any question if they feel it deserves a second look.
Candidates can make an online challenge to the provisional answer keys as per the following details:
| Examination | Process/Activity | Processing Fee | Start Date | End Date |
| NEET (UG)- 2026 | Answer Key Challenge | Rs. 200/- per question challenged (refundable in full for accepted challenges) | 25 June 2026 | 28 June 2026 |
Key Points Candidates Must Note
- Candidates are required to submit the challenge only through the online mode during the designated time period, along with the requisite fee. Challenges submitted through any other mode, such as email, fax, etc., will not be accepted.
- Candidates can raise a challenge against a question only under his/her own Question Paper Series Code (the Series Code printed on the cover of the Test Booklet taken home from the examination centre on 21.06.2026). If a challenge is accepted by the subject matter experts, the final correction will be applied uniformly to all candidates across all four sets. Therefore, candidates do not have to raise the same challenge separately under multiple Series Codes.
- The Answer Key finalised after the challenge will be declared as final. No challenges to the Answer Keys will be entertained after the closing of the Challenge Window or the result declaration.
- The processing fee of Rs. 200/- per question challenged will be fully refunded for every challenge that is accepted by the expert panel.
- The individual scanned OMR response sheets are not part of this phase, as OMR scanning is currently in progress. Candidates will be given a separate chance to view their individual scanned OMR response sheets once scanning is done.
The candidates can view the Provisional Answer Keys on the official NEET website – https://neet.nta.nic.in/ and challenge them if needed. The payment of the processing fee must be done by 28 June, 2026, and no challenges will be accepted without the receipt of the processing fee.
Individual decisions on each challenge will not be communicated separately to candidates, and the final revised answer key will be uploaded to the website.
