The National Testing Agency (NTA) activated the NEET UG 2026 refund portal on May 22, 2026, allowing candidates to submit their bank account details for examination fee reimbursement. The update follows the cancellation of the NEET UG 2026 examination held on May 3 after allegations of paper leak and irregularities surfaced in multiple states.
According to NTA’s official notice, candidates can now access the refund facility through the official NEET website. The portal will remain active till May 27, 2026, 11:50 PM.
Candidates Asked to Submit Bank Details
Medical aspirants appearing for the upcoming NEET UG 2026 re-examination have been advised to carefully submit their bank account details through the official portal for refund processing. Candidates should regularly visit the NTA and NEET websites for further official updates and instructions.
NTA has also advised candidates not to initiate any chargeback request or dispute with their banks regarding the examination fee payment.
NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Scheduled for June 21
NTA has already confirmed that the NEET UG 2026 re-examination will be conducted on June 21, 2026. The agency clarified that candidates will not have to pay any additional fee for appearing in the re-test. Existing registrations from the cancelled examination will remain valid.
The re-exam will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode between 2 PM and 5:15 PM at centres across India and abroad.
Exam City Preferences Can Be Updated
Along with the refund process, NTA has allowed candidates to update their present address and preferred examination city choices.
However, the examination language selected during the original application process cannot be changed at this stage. NTA stated that fresh exam centres will be allotted based on availability and revised city preferences submitted by candidates.
