The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced updated rules for NEET UG 2026 Exam City Selection and Language Allocation to guarantee the convenience and transparency for candidates. As per the new official guidelines, candidates must choose three preferred cities in their current or permanent state address when filling out the application form.

Candidates can select cities either in the State of Permanent Address or in the State of Present Address only. Candidates are recommended to pick their own city or one that is nearby, as final allotment will be done based on administrative and logistical suitability. 

Coming to the exam language, NEEt UG 2026 will be conducted in 13 languages, including Hindi, English, and other regional languages, depending on the location of the exam centre. The chosen medium of examination cannot be changed later.

Special Conditions Cities can be merged if the number of candidates are lesser than the minimum required. Centre details will be mentioned on the Admit Card.  The English version will be treated as final, in case of any translation ambiguity. 

Medium does not affect eligibility for All India Quota or State Quotas.

Candidates can opt for any of the 13 available language mediums while filling out the NEET (UG) 2026 application form. Candidates must note that the selected medium cannot be changed later. English medium candidates will get the question paper only in English, whereas Hindi medium candidates will receive a bilingual booklet (English + Hindi). 

Candidates who have opted for their regional language will receive the question paper in English plus their selected regional language. If there is any translation ambiguity, the English version will be treated as final.
