The long wait to reach Russia is over for another group of Indian students. The 2nd batch of students heading to Perm State Medical University has arrived in Perm, ready to begin their MBBS education for the 2026-27 academic session.
Their departure from India marked an emotional day for students and parents. Now, having reached Russia, the students can look forward to getting to know their university, meeting classmates and becoming familiar with the city they will call home during their medical studies.
The preparations for this move began well before the flight. At Sobraniye 2026 – The Pre-Departure Ceremony, organised by Rus Education in collaboration with the Russian House, New Delhi, students and parents came together ahead of departure. It was an opportunity to connect with other families, receive guidance and prepare for the transition to student life abroad.
With the students now in Perm, attention turns to the practical side of settling into a new country. Getting accustomed to the surroundings, understanding daily routines and preparing for university will be among their first priorities. Over time, these initial days will give way to classroom learning, friendships and the experiences that come with living abroad.
For parents, knowing that their children have reached their destination is an important moment after the farewells at the airport. For the students, it is the start of an experience they have been preparing for through months of planning and admission formalities.
The photographs from this arrival mark the beginning of their time in Perm, a moment worth remembering before classes, examinations, and everyday university life take over. We wish the students the very best as they settle in and work towards their goal of becoming doctors.
