We all are well aware about the present day health crisis faced by the country. With an unfulfilled shortage of the infrastructural, technical and human resources, among the leading hospitals. But more devastating is the fact that a huge number of hospitals and caring homes, which have all the necessary appliances, do not have trained professionals to use them, and hence the machines, which can potentially save lives, are lying as the scrap.
There seems to be an omnipresent shortage of trained medical staff all over the country. As a result, not even the exhausted doctors have become more prone to the mental stress affecting their professional performance. The doctors, nurse, medical officers, etc, though are all indulged every day and every night from the past few weeks, they are still unable to provide the required and satisfactory assistance to the ones in need.
Now we have already analysed the situation and identified the problem, the next step is to find the solutions. Prominent personalities of health management system in India like Dr. Devi Shetty has already brought light over a possible effective measure. Many experts suggest that at this time of crisis, the government of India should allow various students who have already graduated various fields like medicine, nursing, laboratory assistance , and foreign graduates to assist the professionals in the present time.
Though this is a time of medical emergency all over the country, the National Medical Council (NMC) released Draft 2021 for FMGs providing no solution for the need of time. Instead, it seemingly further complicates processes for the already understaffed health care in India. The National Exit Test (NExT) will have an additional paper for the foreign medical graduates (FMGs) and the students must have studied in foreign university following the NMC prescribed curriculum. This statement has further entangled the already crumbling health training system and can potentially affect the health care system of the country in the long run.
