Delegates from MARI State University, Russia met the officials of All India Institutes of Medical Science(AIIMS) to discuss new prospects and opportunities for Medical Students studying in Russia
A delegation from Mari State University recently visited India to explore various opportunities for the
Indian and Russian Medical students studying in Russia. The delegation comprised of Mr. Mikhail
Shvetsov, Rector, Mari State University, Russia and Ms. Irina Petrova, Vice- Chancellor, Mari State
University, Russia. The aim of the delegation was to look out for possibilities to organize summer
practice in top Indian hospitals for Indian MBBS students studying in Russia during their summer
vacations so that they can remain in touch with their practise even in vacations. To carry out the same,
the delegation visited top hospitals in the capital accumulating Information about the available
departments for clinical practice for students. The delegation came up with various opportunities for
Indian MBBS students in Russia.
The delegation visited AIIMS Hospital and Rockland Hospital in the Capital on 14 th November 2017 and
received an overwhelming response from the management of both the hospitals. The delegation sought
supervision and control of summer practice for Indian students under the head of department or
Professors of Universities. It also disseminated information about the practical skills that can be taught
in hospitals during the summer practice session for Indian students of Mari State University, Russia.
On 16 November, 2017 a press conference was organised by Rus Education which was attended by
Russian Dignitaries and the management of top-most hospitals in Delhi. The conference was aimed at
pondering over new clinical practice opportunities for Indian medical students studying in Russia. The
goal was to get the cooperation from top hospitals in Delhi to conduct summer training sessions for
Indian medical students.
The Russian Delegation also signed a memorandum of cooperation with Rockland Hospital in the Press
Conference to initiate the growth of new opportunities for medical students and doctors of both the
countries. A student exchange program can soon be on the cards after the mutual agreement from both
The visit was a huge success as the delegation achieved what it visited the country for. The delegation
and the hospitals were proud to get associated with each other and we can for sure count on immense
new prospects for the medical students to turn up soon.
